Gandbal Boat Incident: 12-Year-Old Boy’s Body Recovered; search for 3rd missing person continues

SRINAGAR -A somber atmosphere engulfed the Cement Kadal area of Central Kashmir’s Srinagar district as the body of a 12-year-old boy was recovered from the waters of the river Jhelum on Saturday morning.
The incident, which occurred on April 16, involved a tragic boat accident as several individuals were crossing the river Jehlum from Gandbal to Batwara. Amidst the chaos, some were rescued by the swift action of the river police and immediately transported to a nearby hospital for medical attention.
Since then, a relentless search operation has been underway to locate the bodies of the missing individuals.
The body has been identified that of Farhaan Waseem, son of Waseem Ahmad Parray from Gandbal Batwara. was found near Cement Kadal. The search for third missing person continues.
In the incident 9 persons lost their lives, six were buried on the first day while two bodies were recovered in the last two days .
