Volleyball and Wrestling Competitions Mark Day 7 of Inter-Zonal District Tournament in Doda
Doda, June 10 (PTK): The seventh day of the Inter-Zonal District Level Tournament 2026 witnessed exciting competitions in Volleyball (Under-19 Boys) and Wrestling (Under-17 and Under-19 Boys) categories, bringing together talented student-athletes from across District Doda.
Participants from the zones of Assar, Ghat, Gundna, Bhalessa, Bhagwah, Doda, Bhalla, Bhaderwah, Bhatyas and Thathri took part in the competitions, displaying remarkable discipline, determination and sporting excellence throughout the day.
The tournament is being organized under the guidance of Director General Youth Services and Sports, J&K, Anuradha Gupta, and Joint Director Youth Services and Sports Jammu, Inderjeet Singh Parihar, while the overall supervision of the event is being carried out by District Youth Services and Sports Officer (DYSSO) Doda, Ashok Kumar.
The Volleyball Under-19 Boys matches witnessed intense competition, with participating teams exhibiting excellent teamwork, coordination and resilience on the court.
Similarly, the Wrestling competitions in the Under-17 and Under-19 categories showcased the strength, skill, technique and perseverance of young wrestlers representing different zones of the district.
The organizing committee congratulated all medal winners and participants for their outstanding performances, particularly in the Wrestling Under-19 Boys category, and appreciated their dedication towards sports and physical fitness.
The events were conducted under the supervision of technical officials from the Department of Youth Services and Sports, including Physical Education Lecturers (PELs), Physical Education Masters (PEMs), Physical Education Teachers (PETs), Rehbar-e-Khel (REK) teachers and Nehru Yuva Kendra (NYK) coordinators, ensuring fair play and smooth conduct of all competitions.
The tournament continues to provide a valuable platform for young athletes to showcase their talent, promote sports culture and strengthen inter-zonal sporting ties across District Doda.(PTK)
