Encounter breaks out in Shopian’s Dragad

Shopian, 20 Oct (PTK) : An encounter breaks out between militants and security forces in dragad area of South Kashmir’s Shopian district on Wednesday morning .

Official sources told Press Trust Of Kashmir (PTK) that a joint team of army and police jointly launched a cordon-and-search-operation in Dragad village following credible inputs of militants movement in the area.

As the joint team encircled the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon them. The fire was retaliated by the joint team, triggering off an encounter.

Meanwhile official twitter handle of Kashmir Zone Police wrote ” Encounter has started at Dragad area of Shopian. Police & Security Forces are on the job. Further details shall follow”.(PTK).
