local authorities in Ajas have arrested two individuals, one of whom is reported to be a government school teacher, for their alleged involvement in selling rice designated for the day-meal scheme on the black market.

The District Police in Bandipora confirmed the arrests and stated that legal action is being pursued under the appropriate sections of the law at the Public Prosecutor’s office in Ajas, operating under the jurisdiction of the Sumbal Police Station. This incident underscores the importance of stringent oversight in social welfare programs to prevent the exploitation of resources meant for the benefit of vulnerable populations.
