CMO, Anantnag, warns resident doctors of strict action for conducting private practice

ANANTNAG: Resident doctors from various medical colleges are reportedly conducting illegally private practice here in District Anantnag, following which the Chief Medical officer Anantnag has ordered and urged all the doctors to cease immediately, failing which their cases will be referred to their respective medical colleges for appropriate disciplinary measures.
An order copy with the Press Trust of Kashmir (PTK) states: “It has come to the attention of this office that numerous Radiologists and qualified sonologists are engaging in private practice across various private clinics and USG diagnostic centers without proper registration with the District Registering Authority, as mandated by the PCPNDT Act. Action will be taken against such clinics and diagnostic centers in accordance with the prevailing regulations.” Reads order.”
The order further states that there have been reports that several residents from various medical colleges are unlawfully conducting private practice in District Anantnag, contravening both residency regulations and the PCPNDT Act.
Residents involved in such practices have been urged to cease immediately, failing which their cases will be referred to their respective medical colleges for appropriate disciplinary measures.
“Additionally, all Radiologists and Sonologists are reminded to include their full names, designation, and JKMC Registration Number at the conclusion of all USG reports as a mandatory requirement.Cooperation in adhering to these regulations is essential to ensure the integrity and legality of medical practices in our jurisdiction,”reveals the order.
