Transport Authorities Crack Down on Vehicles with Expired Registrations
PTK NEWS DESK
SRINAGAR: The transport authorities in Kashmir are all set to enforce stringent measures against vehicles operating with expired registrations.
According to sources familiar with the development, these efforts are aimed at enhancing road safety and ensuring regulatory compliance for both commercial and private vehicles. Vehicles that have had their Fitness Certificates and Permits expired for more than six months will be added to a ‘Not to be Transacted’ list. All vehicles with expired Registration Certificates will also be included in this list and seized.
To ensure effective enforcement, these lists will be made publicly available and shared with relevant enforcement agencies, including the traffic police and executive police. This move is aimed at facilitating the seizure of vehicles operating illegally.
“Regular action in this matter is crucial for maintaining public safety on the roads and ensuring compliance,” sources said.
The transport authorities emphasize that this crackdown is essential to uphold road safety standards and deter non-compliance. The public is urged to ensure that their vehicle registrations, Fitness Certificates, and Permits are up to date to avoid penalties and seizures.
