NC councilor Masrat Kar new Chairman of MC Sopore

Press Trustn of kashmir | Sopore : As the counting for the Sopore Municipal Council elections for president post was held on Saturday, the National Conference candidate Masrat Kar has won the elections and is new MC Chairman Sopore.

According to reports, the contest was between National Conference’s Masrat Kar and PDP candidate Irfan Ali who had filed their forms for president post.

Masrat Kar has won the elections and is now new chairman of Municipal Committee Sopore.

The elections were being held quite long time after the post of the president Municipal Council Sopore fell vacant a day when majority of the councillors moved a successful no-confidence motion against the former Municipal Council Sopore president, Abdul Ahad Khan on January 18, 2021.(PTK)
