NARCOTICS SMUGGLING BID FOILED. TWO HELD WITH HUGE QUANTITY OF CHARAS LIKE SUBSTANCE AT CHAPRAN NAALA NEAR MAINJAL SANGALDAAN

Press Trust of Kashmir | Ramban: Further tightening the noose around Narcotics smuggling in *Subdivision Gool*, today on 08/08/2021, Ramban Police foiled a Narcotics smuggling bid in Sangaldaan area and arrested two persons with Charas like substance.

During the routine checking, Police party from PP Sangaldaan at Chapran Naala Road near Mainjil Sangaldaan, stopped a Tanker bearing registration No. JK02CG 5065

On seeing Police party, persons boarding the Tanker started behaving suspiciously and tried to flee.

But acting swiftly Police party tactfully overpowered them.

On questioning they disclosed their identity as 1.Riyaz ahmad S/O Ali Mohammad Naik R/O Sumbar Harog and

2.Shakir Ahmad S/O Gh Nabi R/O Gund Adalkot Banihal.

During the process of checking 100 Challies of Charas like substance weighing around 2 Kg was recovered from the accused persons.

The accused have been arrested on the spot after completing all legal formalities.

It is pertinent to mention here that during the preliminary questioning the accused have confessed that they were illegally transporting the contraband substance towards Sangaldaan Gool and other areas of District Ramban for sale among gullible Youth.

Further forward and backward linkages are being worked out.

In this connection a Case FIR No 70/2021 U/S 08/20/29 NDPS Act stands registered at P/S Gool and investigation set into motion.

The Arrest has been made by the Police party Sangaldaan led by *IC PP Sangaldaan Insptr Wasim Mehraj* under the close supervision of *Insptr Muneer Ahmed SHO PS Gool and SDPO Gool Pardeep Kumar JKPS*.(PTK).
