JeM militant, another trapped in Awantipora encounter

Press Trust of Kashmir | Awantipora:- A militant has been killed in a gunfight that broke out between militants and security forces in, Wandakpora village of Awantipora in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Monday.

An official said that unidentified militant has been killed and operation is going on.

“AwantiporaEncounterUpdate: 01 #militant killed. #Operation in progress. Further details shall follow.”Kashmir Police zone tweeted.

An official said that a joint team of Police, Army and CRPF launched a cordon and search operation on specific information about the presence of militants in the area.

He said that as the joint team of forces approached the suspected spot, militants fired upon them which retaliated triggering an encounter.

Meanwhile JeM Commander Kaiser Koka is believed to be trapped in the encounter.
