India Firmly Rejects China’s Claims on Arunachal Pradesh
India has once again rebuffed China’s assertions regarding Arunachal Pradesh, labeling them as “absurd claims” and “baseless arguments.” The Ministry of External Affairs reiterated that Arunachal Pradesh is an integral part of India, dismissing China’s objections to Indian leaders’ visits and developmental projects in the region.
In response to recent remarks by the Chinese Defense Ministry spokesperson referring to Arunachal Pradesh as “Zangnan,” India reaffirmed its sovereignty over the northeastern state. The Indian government emphasized that Arunachal Pradesh will continue to benefit from India’s development initiatives and infrastructure projects.
The latest exchange follows Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s virtual inauguration of the strategic Sela Tunnel, a project aimed at enhancing connectivity in Arunachal Pradesh. Despite China’s objections, India remains steadfast in its stance on the region’s sovereignty, emphasizing that Arunachal Pradesh has always been an integral part of the country.
The ongoing tensions over Arunachal Pradesh underscore the persistent territorial disputes between India and China, with Beijing consistently challenging India’s presence and developmental activities in the region. However, India’s firm rebuttals demonstrate its commitment to defending its territorial integrity and asserting its sovereign rights over Arunachal Pradesh.
