GDC Doda celebrates Kargil Vijay Diwas; hosts awareness prog on ‘Har Ghar Tiranga programme
PRESS TRUST OF KASHMIR DODA, JULY 26: To celebrate Kargil Vijay Diwas and ‘Har Ghar Tiranga Programme’, the NSS and NCC (Infantry & Navy) units of Government Degree College Doda under the aegis of IQAC and Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav, organized an awareness lecture on National Flag and its code.
The event was organized under the able guidance and patronage of the College Principal Dr. Attar Singh Kotwal.
About 35 cadets and volunteers of the college participated in this event. The lecture was delivered by Prof. Zain Batt, CTO, NCC (Navy). He made the young minds aware about the history of the National Flag and its code. He further explained in detail the protocol of hoisting the National Flag on various occasions. “ ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ is a campaign to encourage people to bring the Tiranga home and to hoist it to mark the 75th year of India’s independence” he said and added that to mark this momentous occasion, the people are being encouraged to hoist the flag in their homes from 11th to 17th August, 2022.

Thereafter, Prof Batt also spoke in detail about the great sacrifices made by the great soldiers of our country in the Kargil war. He glorified the exemplary and the inspirational contribution of Kargil war heroes.
The event was coordinated by Dr. Sumit Kotwal, NSS Programme Officer of the college. Vote of thanks was delivered by Dr. Arjun Singh, CTO, NCC (Infantry). Other faculty members who attended the event included Prof. Ankush Raj (Convenor, NSS) and Dr. Jagmohan Sharma (Member, NSS).
