Encounter breaks out in Kulgam Village

Srinagar, 11 Nov (PTK) : An encounter breaks out between militants and security forces in Chawalgam area of south Kashmir’s kulgam district on thursday afternoon .

An official told Press Trust Of Kashmir (PTK) that a joint team of Police, Army and CRPF launched a cordon-and-search-operation in chawalgam area following inputs about the presence of Militants in the area.

As the joint team encircled the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon them. The fire was retaliated by the joint team, triggering off an encounter.

Meanwhile Kashmir zone police also informed through a tweet that reads “Encounter has started at #Chawalgam area of #Kulgam. Further details shall follow”. (PTK)
