DC Ganderbal Reviews Mission YUVA Progress; 163 Cases Approved for Financial Assistance
Directs Faster Sanctioning of Cases, Greater Outreach to Aspiring Entrepreneurs
Ganderbal, June 11 (PTK): Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ganderbal, Jatin Kishore, on Thursday chaired a meeting of the District Level Implementation Committee (DLIC) to review the progress achieved under Mission YUVA and approve loan applications received under the flagship youth entrepreneurship scheme.
At the outset, the Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) briefed the meeting on the engagement of external trainers and presented a detailed status report regarding the number of cases sanctioned and disbursed under Mission YUVA in the district so far.
Reviewing the implementation of the scheme, the Deputy Commissioner directed the concerned officers to expedite the verification of applications and ensure effective implementation of Mission YUVA at the grassroots level.
He emphasized the need to enhance the number of external trainers to strengthen capacity-building initiatives and provide adequate handholding and mentoring support to beneficiaries selected under the programme.
The Deputy Commissioner also instructed the Lead District Manager (LDM) to improve the pace of sanctioning and disbursal of cases and set daily processing targets to ensure that aspiring entrepreneurs are able to establish their ventures without unnecessary delays.
To strengthen monitoring and evaluation, the DC directed the Assistant Director Employment to undertake regular inspections of units established under Mission YUVA for effective assessment of outcomes and progress on the ground.
He further stressed the need to intensify awareness campaigns under Udyam Jagriti 5.0 in colleges and higher secondary schools across the district to encourage greater youth participation in self-employment and entrepreneurship initiatives.
During the meeting, the committee conducted a detailed review of applications received under Mission YUVA, examining their eligibility, financial viability and employment-generation potential.
The Deputy Commissioner emphasized transparency, timely processing of applications and extending all possible support to deserving youth with innovative and sustainable business ideas.
He highlighted the importance of close coordination among line departments, financial institutions and implementing agencies for the successful execution of the scheme.
Following detailed scrutiny and evaluation, the committee approved 163 cases, paving the way for financial and institutional support to eligible beneficiaries under Mission YUVA.
The Deputy Commissioner directed the concerned officers to complete all remaining formalities at the earliest to facilitate prompt disbursement of financial assistance and ensure timely establishment of approved business ventures.
The meeting was attended by Additional District Development Commissioner Manzoor Ahmad, General Manager District Industries Centre (DIC), Lead District Manager, Assistant Director Employment, District Social Welfare Officer, Nodal Officer JKEDI and other concerned officers.(PTK)
