Kulgam Police Averts Disaster Amid Heavy Rains, Rescues Village from Flood Threat

Kulgam, April 20 (PTK): Amid continuous rainfall and worsening weather conditions, the Kulgam Police extended timely assistance to residents of Gulabagh village, successfully preventing a flood-like situation that could have caused significant damage to *life and property.

Late on the night of April 19-20, Police Post Jawahar Tunnel received a distress call from locals in Gulabagh, reporting that clogging in a nearby stream had resulted in water entering residential homes.

Acting swiftly, a police team led by the In-charge Police Post Jawahar Tunnel, under the close supervision of SSP Kulgam, rushed to the spot. Upon reaching, they found water gushing into homes with full force, posing a serious risk to the safety of the villagers.

Utilizing all available resources and with determined efforts, the team redirected the water back into the main stream, effectively halting the flood threat and safeguarding the lives and properties of the residents.
