40 people fall sick after having wazwan in north Kashmir’s Bandipora village

Bandipora, 20 Oct (PTK) : At least 40 people fell ill and rushed to nearby health centre after consuming feast (Wazwan) served during a wedding ceremony in Check Lawaypora area in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district on Wednesday.

Sources told Press Trust Of Kashmir (PTK) that All the people who had consumed the wazwan feast at the marriage ceremony developed symptoms like vomiting, running nose and dysentery and were immediately referred to nearby District Hospital Bandipora where they all are being monitored and treated.

Medical Superintendent District Hospital Bandipora Dr Sheikh Mushtaq told Press Trust Of Kashmir (PTK) that “at least 40 People have been treated here , who consumed the Wazwaan feast at the marriage ceremony”.

Meanwhile Food safety department Bandipora deputed a team to the area to collect water and other necessary samples from the village. (PTK)
