War on Drugs: Operation of 4 Drug Outlets disallowed

PRESS TRUST OF KASHMIR ANANTNAG, DECEMBER 24: Following the directions issued during the recent NCORD meeting, Drug Control Officers in Anantnag today conducted inspections in Tulkhan, Sangam, Marhama areas of Bijbehara.
The drive was held under provisions of Drugs and Cosmetics Act to check the adherence by pharmacies in the district with particular focus on sale of Schedule H and H1 drugs. During inspection, operation of 4 outlets found violating provisions of the Drugs and Cosmetics Act was disallowed.

The authorities warned the pharma dealers to desist from unethical trade practices particularly with respect to sale and purchase of psychotropic drugs through unregulated channels.
The team also impressed upon the pharmacies to adopt computerised billing and maintain proper records of sale and purchase.
It is in place to mention that under the aegis of Nasha Mukt Bharat campaign, sensitization sessions have been held with pharmacy owners in the entire district.
