Two more patients die at SMHS, toll reaches 111

SRINAGAR JULY (PTK)Two more patients one each from Budgam and Srinagar have died at SMHS last night and were tested positive for Covid-19, officials said.

They said that two patients who died at SMHS last night and were later tested positive for Covid-19 include a 73 year old lady from Firdous Abad Batamallo and 75 year old male from Budgam.

Dr Nazir Ahmad Choudhary, Medical Superintendent at SMHS said that two elderly patients one each from Budgam and Batamallo area of Srinagar who were admitted on Wednesday morning died few hours after they were admitted at SMHS.

Their swabs were taken which came positive, he said, adding that both patients were having underlying problem like hypertension, pneumonia, COPD besides other ailments.

Earlier two patients including a 55 year old male from Hatipora Kulgam and 65 year old male from Sopore Baramulla who were tested positive for Covid-19, died at SKIMS.

With two more deaths , the death toll related to Covid-19 in J&K has reached to 111 including 98 from Kashmir division and 13 from Jammu division
