Two militants killed in Khonmoh encounter

SRINAGAR, (PTK): The security forces killed two militants in an encounter between militants and security forces in Khanmoh area of Pampore in outskirts of Srinagar district early morning on Saturday.

There are reports of at least one of two more militants hiding in the region. The security forces have cordoned off the area and are carrying the search operation.

The operation is being jointly carried out by 50 Rashtriya Rifles (RR), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and Srinagar Police.

The encounter, which took place despite heavy security cover due to Republic Day, is likely to raise red flags within the agencies.  (PTK)
