Two J&K Govt Employees Dismissed for Anti-National Activities: LG Takes Stern Action Under Article 311

Jammu, April 10 (PTK): In a decisive move reflecting the administration’s zero-tolerance policy towards anti-national elements within the government ranks, the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday dismissed two government employees for their alleged involvement in activities deemed prejudicial to national security.

The individuals, one serving in the Jammu and Kashmir Police Department and the other in the Public Works (R&B) Department, have been terminated from service under the provisions of Article 311 of the Constitution of India.

According to official sources, Basharat Ahmad Mir, an Assistant Wireless Operator in the Police Department and resident of Upper Brein, Srinagar, was found to be in sustained contact with Pakistani intelligence operatives. He reportedly shared sensitive information about security installations and troop deployments. Given his position and access to critical information, his actions were flagged as a grave threat to national security and sovereignty.

In a separate case, Ishtiyak Ahmed Malik, Senior Assistant in the R&B Department and resident of Shitroo Larnoo, Anantnag, was identified as an active member of the proscribed Jamaat-e-Islami Jammu & Kashmir and a terror associate of the Hizbul Mujahideen outfit. He is alleged to have played a significant role in strengthening terror networks, facilitating logistics for militants, and providing critical intelligence to enable terror attacks—particularly in South Kashmir.

Law enforcement and intelligence agencies have reportedly compiled credible evidence establishing their involvement in terror-related activities. Both dismissals are part of the administration’s ongoing efforts to root out individuals with extremist affiliations from the government structure.

The Lieutenant Governor’s office reiterated its firm stance: “There will be no place in government service for those found supporting or engaging in anti-national activities.” (PTK)
