Suspected IED-Like Material Recovered in Poonch Forest
Poonch: Security forces recovered suspected Improvised Explosive Device (IED)-like material in the Sani Forest area of Surankote in Poonch on Saturday.
According to top sources from the Press Trust of Kashmir, a joint team comprising members of the Special Operations Group (SOG) Jaran Wali Gali, the army, and the 246th Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) discovered a suspicious box during their search operations. The box contained three small containers that appeared to be IED-like materials, including firecrackers.
In response to the discovery, a bomb disposal squad was promptly summoned to the location to assess and neutralize the potential threat. Further investigations are ongoing to determine the exact nature of the materials and any potential connections to local or regional militant activities.
