Security Forces Launch Search Operation for Suspected Terrorists in Poonch

 

JAMMU, July 30 : Security forces have initiated a cordon and search operation in response to reports of the movement of two suspected terrorists in a remote village in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir, officials reported on Tuesday.

 

The two armed suspects, dressed in black, were observed in Salampura village near Dehra Ki Gali late Monday night, according to the officials. Upon receiving this information, the police, supported by the Rashtriya Rifles and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), launched a joint operation.

 

The suspects were last seen moving towards lower Pangai, prompting an immediate search operation. However, as of now, there has been no direct contact with the suspected terrorists.

 

Additionally, security forces have expanded their search efforts to Sanai, Jangal, Pattan, and the surrounding villages in the Surankote area of Poonch, as well as the Bangar-Saroor forest in the Drabshalla area of Kishtwar district.

 

The operation is ongoing, and the authorities are determined to track down the suspects to ensure the safety and security of the region.
