Security forces clash with militants in Shopian

SRINAGAR, (PTK): Two militants have been killed in a clash with security forces in Bonabazar area of Shopian town that took place after a night long siege that was laid by security forces last evening.

As per the reports that have poured in to PTK, two militants who are yet to be identified have been killed during the clash while there has been no damage from security forces side and it’s believed that one more militant is still hiding in the area.

The clash between militants and security forces occurred this morning after joint team of security forces that includes Rashtriya Rifles of Indian Army and Special Operation Group of Jammu and Kashmir Police went close to the place where the militants were believed to be hiding.

The militants hiding fired indiscriminately upon the forces to with security forces responded in a same way. During the exchange of bullets, forces managed to kill two militants who are believed to be local.

A police official has confirmed the killing of two militants and has said that their bodies have been recovered and will be handed over to their respective families after identification.

Moreover, the operation is still on in the area. (PTK)
