Sagar reviews arrangements on Sher-e-Kashmir’s 39th death anniversary
Major gathering of Fatiha and Quran khawani will be held at Qaid Mazaar, Naseem Bagh
Srinagar, 06 September(PTK): The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference General Secretary Haji Ali Muhammad Sagar on Monday said Sher-e Kashmir is indelibly the father of popular politics in Kashmir, one of the titans of the freedom struggle in the sub-continent.
He said this today while presiding over a review meeting held here at Party Headquarters Nawa-e –Subha to take stock of the arrangement for the forthcoming 39th death anniversary observance of Sher-e-Kashmir. Party’s Provincial President Nasir Aslam Wani, Provincial Vice President Muhammad Syed Akhoon, Provincial Vice President Ahsan Pardesi, Provincial Secretary Showkat Ahmed Mir, District President Peer Afaq and Additional Spokesperson Muddasir Shahmiri were also present in the meeting.
“The major gathering of Fatiha and Quran khawani, it is pertinent to mention here, will be held at Qayad Mazaar at Naseem Bagh. Party President Dr Farooq Abdullah and Vice president Mr. Omar Abdullah will lead the party in offering tributes to Baba-e-Qoum Hazrat Sheikh Muhammad Abdullah. Besides, glowing tributes shall be paid to the late leader at the provincial and district headquarters of the party throughout the length and breadth of Jammu and Kashmir,” Sagar said in a statement.
Addressing the Meeting Sagar said that Political awakening of people in J&k did not emerge from a clear blue sky, but was established by Sheikh Sahib. He said that Sheikh Sahib’s particular achievement was to adopt a language that emphasized national identity based on social justice, secularism, and equity,” he said. He urged the party functionaries to abide by COVID-19 protocol and other health advisories on the occasion.
On the occasion the participants recalled the great contribution of Sher-e-Kashmir towards the socio-political emancipation of the people of J&k, and paid earnest tributes to him.(PTK).
