Reasi Admin culminates ‘Sewa Parv’ with focus on cleanliness, community welfare services
REASI, OCTOBER 2(PTK): Reasi Administration successfully wrapped up the ‘Sewa Parv’ activities today under the dynamic leadership of Deputy Commissioner Nidhi Malik.
During the fortnight, different departments organized a wide range of activities aimed at promoting community welfare and delivery of public services.
The Social Welfare Department focused on creating awareness about government welfare schemes, while the School Education Department engaged students in extracurricular activities and initiatives promoting empathy, civic responsibility, and social service. Municipal Councils and the Rural Development Department led sanitation and cleanliness drives in towns and panchayats, and departments in the agro-allied and skill development sectors worked to deliver essential services while raising awareness among beneficiaries.
Health department organised screening camps throughout the district.
Special camps were also conducted on the themes of Disaster Management skills, Nasha Mukt J&K and Digital literacy.
On the last day, coinciding with Gandhi Jayanti, the celebrations reached their peak. Municipal Council Reasi organized a Swachhta Rally led by EO Mohammad Ajaz, with participation from school students, volunteers, Swachhta Ambassadors and police personnel. The rally marched through the main market area with the participants raising slogans echoing Gandhian values of cleanliness. A cleanliness drive was carried out along the route. The rally culminated at Zanana Park Reasi where the participants took a solemn Swachhta Pledge.
Certificates of appreciation were presented to Safai Mitras, and prizes were awarded to the winning students of the painting competition. Raj Kumar, Swachhta Ambassador was felicitated for planting over 21,000 saplings.
A mobilization event held at RRR Centre, Reasi Ward No. 4, educated students on proper disposal of recyclable materials.
Other departments also marked the conclusion of Sewa Parv with meaningful initiatives.
The School Education Department conducted final assemblies to felicitate best performers and encouraged students to participate in acts of services such as sharing meals with those in need, helping senior citizens and volunteering for environmental causes.
The RDD Department organised special Gram sabhas to pass resolutions for a complete ban on polythene in all panchayats, while the Animal Husbandry Department held an awareness camp for farmers at Sub Unit Pouni.
The Sewa Parv, a festival of Service, dedication and resolve concluded with renewed enthusiasm and a collective resolve to foster a clean, green and compassionate Reasi, reflecting the true spirit of community service.(PTK)
