Ramban Admin windup Sewa Parv-2025 celebration; Commemorate Gandhi Jayanti

RAMBAN, OCTOBER 2(PTK): District Administration Ramban today organized a series of programmes across the district to pay rich tributes to the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, on his birth anniversary.

Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Alyas Khan paid floral tributes to Mahatma Gandhi and reiterated Gandhiji’s vision of people-centric governance and participatory development. He was presiding over a public outreach camp at Panchayat Ghar Kunfer, Chanderkote, marking the culmination of the fortnight-long Sewa Parv-2025 themed “Vikas Bhi, Virasat Bhi.”

The programme was attended by ACR Shokat Hayat Mattoo, ACD Mohammad Ashfaq, GM DIC Ravinder Anand, BDO Ramban Sunil Kumar, besides other senior officers, PRI members and locals.

The DC patiently listened to the issues and grievances projected by the people of the area and issued on-the-spot directions to the concerned officers for their timely redressal. He assured that all genuine demands would be addressed in a time-bound manner.

The DC informed the gathering that Maha Gram Sabhas are being organized across all Panchayats of the district today to formulate the Gram Panchayat Development Plan for the financial year 2026-27. He urged the public to actively participate in these Gram Sabhas and register their developmental needs to be incorporated in the upcoming plans.

On the occasion, the DC also inspected stalls set up by departments including Health, ICDS, DIC Ramban and others. These stalls showcased government schemes, services and awareness material for the benefit of the people.

Earlier, locals highlighted several developmental issues and demands before the Deputy Commissioner. Responding to the concerns, the DC assured that every effort is being made by the district administration to ensure holistic and inclusive development in Ramban. He stressed that active cooperation of the people is vital to realize Gandhi Ji’s ideals of ‘Atamnirbhar’ self-reliant villages.

Meanwhile, the last day of Sewa Parv fortnight witnessed diverse activities by various departments across the district including Swasth Nari Sashakt Parivar Abhiyan, plantation drives under the banner Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam, sanitation campaigns under Swachhta Hi Sewa and special service delivery initiatives aimed at benefiting the common people.

The day-long programmes concluded with a collective resolve by officials, prominent citizens and the public to uphold the values of truth, non-violence, cleanliness and inclusive development as preached by Mahatma Gandhi.(PTK)
