Srinagar, April 18: As April unfolds, parts of Jammu and Kashmir embraced the soothing touch of rainfall, heralding the promise of renewal amid the changing seasons. Despite the clouds looming overhead, the night temperatures saw a slight rise, offering a respite from the lingering chill. However, the meteorological department forecasts a dip in mercury during daylight hours.
According to a meteorological department official, Srinagar and Jammu cities experienced traces of rainfall, while Qazigund and Gulmarg recorded 0.4mm and 0.2mm, respectively, until 0830 hours this morning.
Anticipating the weather patterns, the department has issued predictions of “widespread light to moderate rain and thunders” for April 18 and 19.
“On April 18-19, generally cloudy weather with light to moderate rain and light snow over higher reaches is expected at most places with thunder/lightning during April 18 evening to April 19 late evening/night,” the official stated.
Looking ahead, the forecast indicates the likelihood of light rain in scattered areas over the weekend. From April 21-25, generally dry weather is expected, although afternoon thundershower activity at isolated places cannot be discounted.
As the month progresses, generally cloudy weather with light rain, accompanied by thunder, is expected at various locations from April 26 to 27.
The ebb and flow of rainfall not only mark the transition of seasons but also serve as a reminder of the intricate dance between nature’s elements. As the region prepares to embrace these changes, residents are urged to stay informed and prepared for the evolving weather conditions in the days ahead.
