Police rejected the claims of Nighat Bashir of beating their cousins after she raised voice on drug addiction:POLICE

 

Srinagar June 18 (PTK) Police on Wednesday rejected the claims of Nighat Bashir that her cousins were beaten during cordon and search operation by army after she raised the voice on drug addiction on social media.

Police in a statement has said that some days back Basit Bashir S/O Bashir Dar R/O Seelu took discreetly a cell phone from his home and gave it to Mehraj Ud Din Mir @ Manpala R/o Behrampora Rfd against some cash.

Family of Basit claiming that Manpala is providing drug to our son against cell phone and against other items and has snatched a gold bracelet as well, statement reads, adding that accordingly sister of Basit namely Nighat Bashir went along with her father to Behrampora to get the cell phone back.

The statement further added that at Behrampora after noticing the accused some heated arguments took place between Manpala and Nighat Bashir resulting in scuffle between Manpala, Nighat Bashir and her father Bashir Ahmad Dar.

case FIR No. 65/2020 u/s 354,379,323 IPC was registered against Man palla and others, statement reads,adding that since there are only few accused nominated in written complaint but during the course of investigation police have identified more accuseds (6) and have been arrested and are in police custody.

It further adds that yesterday at around 7:45 pm Nighat Bashir through social media hd informed that her father Bashir Ah Dar had suffered a massive heart attack,rushed to sdh Sopore, however, after conducting some tests he was declared absolutely fit and discharged within half an hour-After reaching home Nighat Bashir again went on Social media (fb ) and claimed that her cousins were beaten by army and they have cordoned off their house and search is under way because i have raised voice against Drug peddlers.

However, it adds that on confirmation nothing as such was found,routine CASO was going on in seelu and no relative of her was either arrested or beaten .when contacted her cousins they too declined the accusation made by Nighat Bashir.

Pertinent to mention that 6 accuseds have been arrested and are in police custody lodged at ps Dangiwacha which she has claimed that they have been released late night, it further adds.(PTK)
