Police Crack Blind Murder Case in Baramulla, Arrest Four Including Two Women

Baramulla, Aug 10: Police in Baramulla have solved a blind murder case, arresting four individuals, including two women, in connection with the crime.

 

According to a police spokesperson, on August 2, 2024, the Police Post Palhallan received information about an unidentified body found under the Khambiyar-Andergam bridge. The deceased was later identified as Nasir Ahmad Ganaie, a resident of Pousnag Kreeri.

 

A police team, led by SDPO Pattan DSP Shahjahan, assisted by SHO Pattan Inspector Mohd Shafi and DO Palhalan SI Raees, conducted an in-depth investigation. Through sustained interrogation, evidence examination, and analysis of technical data, they identified the accused as Ghulam Mohi-ud-din Ganie, his wife Fatima Begum, their daughter Rubeena Bano, and their son Aadil Ahmad Ganie—all residents of Gundbal Pattan in Baramulla.

 

The investigation uncovered that the accused had conspired to kill Ganaie on August 1, 2024. They allegedly strangled him with a dupatta and disposed of the body under the bridge.

 

All four accused have been arrested and are currently in police custody. The police have also recovered the weapon used in the crime, along with other crucial evidence. Further investigation is ongoing, the spokesperson added.
