Pediatric, Adult Echocardiography, GI Endoscopy Unit starts function in DH Udhampur
PRESS TRUST OF KASHMIR UDHAMPUR, AUGUST 27: On the directions of Director General Family Welfare and Director Health Services Jammu Dr. Saleem ur Rehman and under the Supervision of CMO, Udhampur Dr Vijay Basnotra, A Unit of Pediatric/Adult Echocardiography and GI Endoscopy has been started in District Hospital Udhampur.
It has become the first District Hospital of Jammu division apart from Government Medical College, Jammu, to have this facility after the Unit was inaugurated by Dr Deepak Kapoor, Deputy Director (HQ() J&K Health Services, Jammu on August 10, 2022.

Dr Deepak Kumar who is a Consultant Paediatrician and has a Fellowship in Paediatric Cardiology will carry out Pediatric Echocardiography. Dr Vivek Sharma, Consultant Cardiologist will carry out Adult Echocardiography and Dr Vinod Gupta, who is a qualified Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist, will carry out the GI Endoscopy.
Initially the procedures shall be carried out once a week and later on as per the need.
The facility will prove to be a boon for the patients of neighboring districts of Ramban, Doda and Reasi who won’t have to go to GMC Jammu for these procedures.
