Our area turned into dumping site, allege Burnabagh residents

Warns of dire consequences if this activity not stopped

PRESS TRUST OF KASHMIR Srinagar AUG 02:– The residents of Barnubagh in Kangan area of Ganderbal district on Tuesday alleged that area is being turned into a dumping site as whole dirt is being left in the area.

The residents said that dirt from different areas is assembled and then shifted in vehicles despite that all people are aware that Burnabagh is very picturesque area and people from different areas come here for picnic.

They said that all Youth of the area on Tuesday assembled there after they found a tipper unloading dirt there.

We cleared all the dirt here today but we warn people and contractors to avoid littering our area as we too have rights to live here, said Ishfaq Ahmad a local resident.

We have been suffering as dirt has been left scattered everywhere in the area, he said, adding that this is last warning to all who are scattering garbage and dirt here.

Locals warned of dire consequences if this activity continues and said that if any vehicle unloading dirt will be found here will be set into fire and concerned authorities themselves will be responsible for it.
