One body recovered, six more believed to be dead as under construction tunnel collapses in Ramban

Ramban May 20 (PTK)  A body was recovered while as six more are believed to dead as an under construction tunnel collapsed in Ramban district on Thursday late night.

An official said that under construction tunnel coming up along Jammu—Srinagar national highway at Khoni Nallah Makerkote in Ramban district of Jammu region collapsed on Thursday late night

He said that at least 10 workers git trapped under the debris as tunnel at Khoni Nallah Makerkote area while as three workers were rescued and were taken to hospital for treatment

Among seven,body of one person has been recovered while there are no traces of six more are missing,he said, adding that rescue operation is underway since last several hours and efforts are on to get out more persons whose chances of survival are very less.

Senior officials are on the spot and are monitoring rescue operation, he added. (PTK)
