Nadim Memorial Volleyball Championship concludes in Bandipora

Bandipora, September 24 ((PTK) : The Nadim memorial Volleyball Championship 2020 organized by the youngesters of Gamroo village of Bandipora concluded in Bandipora on Thursday.
Tournament which was played on double knockout basis was conducted by some budding youths of Gamroo Bandipora.
The nail biting final team from Aragam winning the title and the runners-up title was bagged by team from SK Sports club.
Sajid Pathan was declared Man of the Match for his outstanding performance.
Match was played under the close supervision of Peerzada Khrsheed Shaheen.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Bandipora Zahoor Ahmad, Dysp Hqr Bandipora, SHO Bandipora, Company Commander Bapora Camp gave away the prizes among winning teams.
The tournament was organized at Panchayat ground Gamroo Bandipora. Organisers said that 16 teams from various districts of kashmir participated in the said championship in all age categories.
Argam Volleyball Club won the final.
Speaking on the occasion ADC Bandipora said that the youngsters of Bandipora have showcased an exceptional performance in different activities and received recognition at national and international level.
Mir said during the two phases of Back to Village program and the ongoing Jan Abhiyan campaign, the district administration took up the task to construct playfields in each Panchayat under MGNREGA and 14th FC so that local youth are provided a space to spend their leisure time in productive work.
The match was witnessed by huge gathering and every minute spectators cheer their favourite players, Huge number of fans gathered at the venue to witness the match.From children to senior citizens, the crowd thoroughly enjoyed the high voltage volleyball match at panchayat ground Gamroo.
The senior citizens of the village applauded the role of youths in conducting such activities round the year with an aim to scoop up the talent of the youths in sports activities.
The aim of organising this tournament is to nurture the sports talent and development of team spirit in the youths of the district said tournament management member.
Speaking on the occasion, the organisers thanked, guests and local youth for providing their support and in ensuring all matches of the championship are in a peaceful manner.
Besides ADC Bandipora, Deputy Superintendent of Police, SHO Bandipora, Company Commander Bapora Camp and other were also present on the occasion.(PTK)
