Militant killed in ongoing Srinagar encounter
PRESS TRUST OF KASHMIR SRINAGAR SEP 14:-A militant has been killed in an encounter that broke out between security forces and militants in Nowgaml area of Central Kashmir’s Srinagar district, officials said on Wednesday
An official said that a joint of team of police and CRPF after receiving information about the presence of militants launched search operation in the area.

He said that as the joint team of forces intensified searches towards suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon the party, which was retaliated, thus triggering an encounter.
He said that during exchange of fire, an unidentified militant was killed while as operation is on in the area.
“SrinagarEncounterUpdate: 01 #terrorist killed. #Operation in progress. Further details shall follow.” Kashmir Police zone tweeted.
