NEW DELHI, OCTOBER 19 (PTK): The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has extended a formal invitation to the Leh Apex Body (LAB) and the Kargil Democratic Alliance (KDA) for a crucial round of talks in New Delhi on October 22, 2025, in an effort to address the growing political and constitutional concerns of Ladakh.
The meeting, to be chaired by senior MHA officials, will focus on the region’s four key demands — statehood for Ladakh, inclusion under the Sixth Schedule, establishment of a Public Service Commission, and separate Lok Sabha representation for Leh and Kargil.
According to sources, the fresh invitation signifies the Centre’s intent to revive dialogue with both Leh and Kargil-based leadership after weeks of unrest and public dissatisfaction.
“The Government of India remains committed to constructive engagement with all stakeholders from Ladakh. Dialogue is the only way forward,” an MHA official stated.(PTK)
