President Droupadi Murmu Appoints Bhartruhari Mahtab as Speaker Protem

President Droupadi Murmu has appointed Bhartruhari Mahtab, Member of Lok Sabha, as the Speaker Protem. This appointment is made under Article 95(1) of the Constitution of India.

Bhartruhari Mahtab, a seasoned parliamentarian with extensive experience, will now temporarily preside over the sessions of the Lok Sabha until a new Speaker is elected. As Speaker Protem, his duties will include administering the oath of office to new members of the House and overseeing the initial proceedings of the Lok Sabha.
