Kousernag Yatra concludes amid religious fervour

PRESS TRUST OF KASHMIR REASI, AUGUST 04: Annual Kousernag Yatra concluded here today as the Chari Mubarak reached back to Reasi Shiv mandir.

Yatra started on July 30 from Shiv Mandir Baradari to Shiv Mandir Nai Basti, from where it resumed forward travel via Sungri, Salal, Arnas, Dharmari, Mahore, Sarh and Bagga. A large number of devotees accompanied Yatra and also set up langers at Mahore.

SDM Mahore, Mazahir Hussain Shah, along with SDPO received the Yatra on July 31 accompanied the devotees up to Kousernag.

After a night halt at Sungri, the Yatra resumed  on 1st of August after Pooja and holy shanan on the sangam of Anas and Sungri Rivers.

District administration Reasi had set up Yatra registration counters at Sungri, Chassana and Singlikote where devotees were also examined medically for required fitness.

Locals from villages of Malikot, Singlikote, Sarsote, Mamankote, Nandkote etc joined Yatra  with local charis and Dholaks.

After a night stay at Sari, the Yatra commenced again on 2nd of August for holy Kousernag. About 350 devotees took shanan and performed pooja at the lake. The devotees were accompanied by security forces from the Reasi and Kulgam side as well .

There was a sense of joy among the devotees as the yatra had resumed after a gap of 3 years due to COVID-19 Pandemic.

After a night halt back at Sari, the holy Chari was taken back to Shiv Mandir Reasi and marked the culmination of the very successful Kousernag yatra 2022.

 District Administrations Reasi played a pivotal role in successful conduct of the yatra.

Pilgrims, Sadhus & natives   thanked DC Reasi Babila Rakwal for all the efforts put in by the district administration for organising the pilgrimage and extending timely help whenever and wherever required during the Kousernag yatra.
