Kokernag Encounter: Civilian Succumbs to Injuries, Massive Search Operation Underway

Srinagar, August 11: A civilian who was critically injured during a gunfight at Ahlan forest in the Kokernag area of South Kashmir succumbed to his injuries on Sunday morning.
A senior police officer confirmed that one of the two civilians injured in the firefight passed away at a local hospital earlier today.
The gunfight, which erupted yesterday between militants and security forces in the dense Ahlan forests, claimed the lives of two army soldiers. The clash also left two civilians with severe bullet injuries.
As the situation remains tense, a massive search operation is currently underway in the area to locate and neutralize the remaining militants involved in the encounter. Security forces are on high alert, with reinforcements being deployed to ensure the safety of the surrounding villages.
The Kokernag area has witnessed heightened security activity in recent months due to increased militant presence, prompting intensified operations by security forces to restore peace in the region.
