JKPCC leaders pay tributes to Indira Gandhi on her 37th death anniversary

Press Trust of Kashmir | Srinagar : Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) leaders on Sunday paid rich tributes to former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi on her 37th death anniversary.

Former minister and ex-JKPCC president Peerzada Mohammad Sayeed, JKPCC Vice Presidents, G N Monga and Mohammad Anwar Bhat, ex MLA Mohammad Amin Bhat, Adv Manzoor Ahmad Ganie (ex advisor to former CM) Fayaz Ahmad Dar (district president Congress, Pulwama), Zahid Hussain Jan (District president Budgam), Mohammad Ayoub Thokar, Abdul Rehman Magray, Engineer Maroof Ahmad and other senior leaders in a statement issued to press while paying tributes to Indiraji said she continued to serve the country fearlessly till the last moment.

Her life is a source of inspiration for all. She represented strength and epitomised sacrifice, they said. Her policy to bring National Conference founder Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah on the negotiation table and persuade him to join mainstream politics shows how courageous, farsighted and humble Indiraji was.

The leaders said that Indiraji contributed immensely towards national unity and integrity. Her sacrifice, determination and grit to take the nation ahead will always remain in our collective memories.(PTK).
