Jan 19 Kashmir history’s dark chapter: Kadfeen
Press Trust of Kashmir | Srinagar: Congress leader Kadfeen Choudhary on Wednesday slammed the BJP government over its inefficacy to give justice to Kashmir’s pandit community that has been living in exile for more than 30 years now.
Kadfeen said that January 19 is the darkest day of Kashmir’s history when the vested interests attempted to tear apart the centuries-old secular fabric of Jammu and Kashmir and coerced Kashmir’s pandit community to leave their homes in droves.
He added that in spite of the fact that 30 years have passed and BJP government’s high-pitched rhetoric of giving justice to the exiled community, nothing has been done. On the contrary, the community has been made to live amid the multitude of torments with no sigh of relief seen in the near future.
Kadfeen said that the present dilapidated condition of the migrant pandits is a reflection of the government’s hollow promises on the ground. No measure, said Kadfeen, has been taken for their safe return. Even in the migrant camps, the community is living in distress and perturbation at a large scale.
Kadfeen demanded that immediate measures are needed to be taken to provide a safe return to the migrant pandits to Kashmir so that Kashmiriat is allowed to thrive again.:-PTK.
