Jammu and Kashmir Employees Coordination Committee welcomes Shri Arun Kumar Mehta (IAS) as Chief Secretary of Jammu and Kashmir UT.

Press trust of Kashmir | Srinagar:- Jammu and Kashmir Employees Coordination Committee, President and Chairman, Jammu & Kashmir Teacher’s Association, Mr. Shah Fayaz in a press statement here on Friday welcomes Shri Arun Kumar Mehta (IAS) as Chief Secretary of Jammu and Kashmir. Shah Fayaz said that Shri Arun Ji is is one of the most dedicated and enthusiastic administrators of India.

He said that Shri Mehta is a 1988 Batch IAS officer from Bihar and had been empaneled as Secretary in the Central Government following clearance by the Appointment Committee of Cabinet. He is an M. Tech. and a Ph.D. Mehta served in the Ministry of Urban Development, Power Development in J&K, Environment in GoI, Finance Department in J&K.

He also remained posted as Deputy Commissioner Baramulla from 1994-97. Then he returned to Delhi where he served in the Environment Ministry and then again returned to J&K in 2003. In the Environment Ministry, he remained posted for nine years. He served in the Urban Development Ministry, Government of India, for five years.

He remained posted in different departments of Government of India for 15 years and nearly 15 years in J&K on different positions.

Shah Fayaz in a welcome gathering which was attended by all core members of the coordination committee including Miss Aabida War, Vice President, JKECC, Er. Altaf Rasool, Secretary General JKECC, Dr. Fayaz Ahmad Cheif Spokesman, JKECC, Mr. Hatim Quyoom, Chief Coordinator, JKEEC, Mr. Shah Aashiq, Chief Media Advisor, Qaiser Bhat, Provisional Secretary, JKECC besides heads of other employees unions/associations.

Shah Fayaz greeted Mr. Mehta with warm welcome and assured all possible support and cooperation from JKECC in matters of J&K UT Employees. He said, “JKECC is an apex body of various employee organizations and employees unions of several departments of Jammu and Kashmir.

While presiding over the welcome gathering Shah Fayaz said, “It is with pleasure that I being President of JKECC extend our warm welcome to Shri Arun Kumar Mehta (IAS) as New Chief Secretary of Jammu and UT and we as an apex body of various employees amalgams assured full cooperation

and coordination from our side to Shri Mehta. He highlighted and praised the coordination and support provided by Shri B.V.R Subrahmanyam (IAS) Ex Chief Secretary and his keen nature to listen to everyone.
