JAMMU, Oct 6: The Indian Army’s Romeo Force achieved a significant success by seizing a large cache of weapons and explosives in the Jhullas area of Poonch district, Jammu and Kashmir, on Friday, officials reported.
The discovery was made during a search operation based on a tip-off, which led to the recovery of a suspected terrorist’s bag. According to Army officials, the recovered items included AK-47 and pistol rounds of Pakistani origin, sophisticated explosives such as Remote Controlled Improvised Explosive Devices (RCIEDs), Timed Destruction IEDs, Stove IEDs, and Chinese grenades.
“All recovered items were found in functional and ready-to-use condition,” the Army stated.
This seizure is seen as a critical move by the Indian Army to safeguard the security grid, especially ahead of the upcoming elections in the region. The operation is ongoing, with further details expected as the investigation progresses.
