Hizb commander killed, three soldiers, civilian injured in Anantnag encounter

Srinagar June 04 (PTK) A top hizb commander was killed while as three soldiers and a civilian was injured in an encounter in Rishipora area of Kapran in Anantnag district.

An official said that a top hizb commander Nisar Khanday who was active since 2018 has been killed.

“Militant Commander of proscribed #terror outfit HM Nisar Khanday killed. #Incriminating materials, #arms & ammunition including 01 AK 47 rifle recovered. #Operation in progress.” Kashmir police zone tweeted while quoting IGP Kashmir.

Earlier an official said that three soldiers and a civilian was injured during initial exchange of fire whose condition is stable.

” In the initial exchange of fire, three army personnel & one civilian got injured. All the injured were immediately airlifted to 92 base hospital #Srinagar for treatment & are stated to be stable.” Kashmir Police Zone tweeted earlier.

Earlier an official said that acting on specific information a joint team of Police and army’s 19RR launched a cordon and search operation in Kapran Verinag.

He said that as the joint team of forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon the forces, triggering off a gunfight. (PTK)
