Gunfight Erupts Between Militants and Security Forces in Udhampur

Jammu, August 11: A gunfight broke out on Sunday between militants and security forces in the Khaned area of Basanthgarh, located in the Udhampur district.

According to a top police officer, the security forces had been continuously tracking the militants, who had managed to escape four days earlier following a brief exchange of fire in the same area.

“Today, contact was re-established with the militants,” the officer stated. “So far, no casualties have been reported in the exchange of fire.”

To ensure the militants do not escape this time, additional reinforcements have been dispatched to the area, with all possible escape routes being secured, the officer added.

The situation is ongoing, and further updates are awaited as security forces continue their operation in the region.
