Gunfight breaks out in Kulgam

Press Trust of Kashmir | Kulgam : A gunfight has been broke out between militants and security forces at Munand village in Yaripora hamlet of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Sunday morning.

An official said that a joint team of Police, Army and CRPF launched a cordon and search operation after “specific inputs” about presence of militants in Munand Yaripora.

As the security forces approached the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon them, which was retaliated, triggering an encounter, he said

“#Encounter has started at Munand area of #Kugam. Police and security forces are on the job. Further details shall follow, ” Kashmir Zone police tweeted.

In an ongoing at least 10 encounters have broke out in the valley.(PTK).
