Govt should not impose property tax under the given circumstances: Bashrat Bin Qadir

Srinagar Sept 15, 2021(PTK) : Leader of Opposition and executive member Municipal Corporation Bashrat Bin Qadir on Wednesday stated that he has gone through the notice with regard to implementing proper tax in J&K and expressed his disappoint over this move.

We feel that imposing property tax amounts to putting further burden on the people and we (Congress Party) strongly condemn this move.

Congress Party understands that it is not the appropriate time to enact this law (Property Tax) in UT of J&K, which is currently witnessing worst economic crisis, rising unemployment, unprecedented price hike on essential and petroleum products, besides many other issues confronting people, he said.

He said people in both the regions of UT have been pushed to wall due to the ugliest situation Basharat added and urged the Govt not to impose further burden on the people by way of imposing property tax, ensuring that people are able to come out of the current economic crisis.(PTK).
