Fisheries graduates protest,seek creation of vacancies, preference in related government jobs

Srinagar October 01 (PTK) The unemployed graduates youths who have completed their graduation in the Fisheries subjects on Wednesday held a protest demonstration here in Srinagar demanding the government give them preferences in job recruitment process in posts available in this field.

Scores of the protesting unemployed youths from various areas of the Kashmir valley assembled here in a press enclave here under the banner of Jammu and Kashmir fisheries Graduates , chanted the slogans in favour of their demands.

The protesting unemployed youths said that after they have completed their degrees in the fisheries subjects, the government is not creating the posts for the fisheries Graduates.

Shakeel Ahmad, one of the protesting youth said that the students who have completed the graduation in fisheries subjects from different Indian universities are unemployed. Since the year 2007 no preferences have been given to fisheries graduates in the job recruitment process.

“Despite fisheries sector increasing day by day in the Jammu and Kashmir valley, we fisheries graduates are still unemployed in Jammu and Kashmir ,” He said .
He said that we have completed our degrees in the fisheries field. So, we can do our jobs in the fisheries sector. But it seems that there is no scope for our degrees.
According to PTK, The protesting graduates unemployed youths said that the government should give preferences to the fisheries unemployed youths and creation of more posts in the department as well as in the universities.

The protesting unemployed youths also requested the L.T Governor of Jammu and Kashmir to look into the matter and provide job preferences in the sector and universities.(PTK)
