Extensive Market Checking Conducted In Kangan Gbl

Srinagar, 11 Feb (PTK) : On the directions of District Administration Ganderbal , a joint team of Food Safety & Consumer Affairs/Public Distribution Department conducted a major market checking with the aim to check the quality and prices of various products in Kangan market in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal District.

An official told Press Trust Of Kashmir that the inspection team comprising of officials of Food Safety & Consumer Affairs/Public Distribution Department, Fayaz Ahmed FSO & Javeed Ahmad TSO Kangan along with the Dr. Javeed (VAS) checked various establishments in Kangan market especially Butcher’s/Chicken dealers & Green Grocers to check the mutton quality, their sanitation & hygiene & also the Govt. approved rates under FSS Act-2006 and an amount of Rs. 700/= recovered as fine under EC Act. from erring traders, he added.

During the market checking vegetables, fruit shops were also inspected and the rotten vegetables, fruits, expired items were destroyed on spot.

Moreover, Butchers /Chicken sellers were directed to maintain hygiene/Sanitation & Provide quality of meat to the Consumers mandated as per the Food Safety & Standards Act-2006. (PTK)
