Drug Peddler Apprehended in Ganderbal, Contraband Substances Seized: Police
Ganderbal Jan, 07 (PTK) A major success against drug trafficking, the Ganderbal Police arrested a drug peddler during a routine check in the Lar area of the district. Acting on credible information, a police party from Police Station Lar set up a checkpoint at Benhama Lar.
During the operation, a suspicious individual attempted to flee the scene but was promptly apprehended by the alert police team. Upon searching the individual, later identified as Imtiyaz Ahmad Mir, a resident of Benhama Lar, the police recovered 3.81 kg of Bhang Patri and 32 grams of Charas concealed in a bag.
The accused has been booked under FIR No. 02/2025 in accordance with relevant provisions of the NDPS Act. Investigations are underway to uncover further links and networks associated with the accused.
The Ganderbal Police has reiterated its commitment to eradicating the drug menace and has urged the public to come forward with any information regarding illegal drug activities. Assuring complete confidentiality, the police have appealed for community cooperation in their ongoing drive against narcotics.(PTK)
