DC Srinagar assures operationalisation of bridges

SRINAGAR, November 03(PTK): DDC Chairman Srinagar Malik Aftab along with Deputy Commissioner Srinagar Ajaz Asad on Wednesday visited the territorial constituency at Soiteng wherein they headed a Public Durbar that was attended by scores of local inhabitants.

In a statement issued here, Malik Aftab said that people lauded the efforts made by the District Development Council while apprising that further people-centric measures needed to be taken in order to alleviate their sufferings.

“People recognize the unswerving efforts of the DDC but still there exists a plethora of public grievances that need to be addressed at an earliest. The prime demand that was raised in the Durbar pertains to the road bottlenecks due to which the area has to face tremendous traffic jams,” he said.

Aftab said that locals demanded that an earlier operationalisation of Soiteng-Wethpara vehicular bridge and Batwara-Gandbal footbridge remains imperative for addressing the routine lock-jam which has resulted in causing immense inconvenience to them.

He said that DC Srinagar assured the people that the requisite works at these bridges will commence on a war-footing basis within a stipulated time frame.(PTK)
