DC Ramban reviews e-auction of minor mineral blocks

PRESS TRUST OF KASHMIR RAMBAN, AUGUST 18: Deputy Commissioner Ramban, Mussarat Islam today convened a meeting of concerned officers to discuss and review the status of minor mineral mining in the district.

The meeting was attended by the Additional Deputy Commissioner, Harbans Sharma, DFO Ramban, Rajan Singh, DFO Batote, Kuldeep Singh, DMO Kulwant Singh and other concerned officers.

At the outset, DMO gave a detailed presentation and apprised the meeting about the latest status of the minor mineral blocks.

During the meeting, a threadbare discussion was held on various issues related to the e-auction of minor mineral blocks. The DC also reviewed the status of NOCs required for the e-auction of existing and newly identified minor mineral blocks and directed the concerned departments to provide for the same under extant rules as early as possible.

The Deputy Commissioner further directed the   Police, Revenue, Forest, Irrigation, and Flood Control departments to keep a vigil on illegal mining, transportation, and dumping of minor minerals in the district by conducting frequent inspections.
